Lucia Events is a full service Hawaii wedding planning firm located on the island of Oahu, and serviced all Hawaiian Islands (Oahu, Maui, Kauai, Lanai, and Hawaii Island).  We offer boutique-style wedding planning with an emphasis on details and service, and our forte is planning with destination wedding couples from across the globe.

Founder and Principal Planner

Born, raised and educated on Oahu, Lucia Events’ founder and principal planner Diana Caro has found her niche planning destination weddings in Hawaii since 2009.  Formerly employed by the number one entertainment company in the world, she is trained extensively in customer service and management.  With a foundation built on integrity, Diana maintains high expectations and even higher standards in every aspect of her work.  This, paired with the people skills gained while earning her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Hawaii, contributes to her upbeat yet calming personality and serves as her foundation for wedding planning with couples from across the United States and abroad seeking to get married in the most beautiful place on earth.  Encompassing a busy life, Diana finds her serenity and balance at home with her husband, and her three dogs: The Mighty Samson, Earl Franklin Radar, and Betty White.  As a true Taurus, she is an aficionado of life’s finest and coziest indulgences…wine, travel, the mountains, truffled anything…and of course beautiful, luxurious weddings!

“It’s simple, I am obsessed with what I do…weddings are at the core of my hopeless, romantic self.  When that happens, passion for my work blossoms into exquisite details and unsurpassed organization.  My dream of being a Hawaii wedding planner was ignited as I planned my own wedding to my then fiancé and now husband of 10 years.  In the years following our wedding, I immersed myself in wedding websites and magazines as I dreamt up my second, third and fourth wedding…to the same guy, of course!  Somehow a new bridal magazine made its way into the shopping cart at almost every trip to the grocery store, and as my husband was frequently in disbelief as to why I needed another magazine, my response was always, “You wait until I become a wedding planner…someday this will all pay off!”  Several years later, serendipity struck.  I was at a crossroads in my career and my dream job of becoming a wedding planner literally fell into my lap.  It’s one of those once-in-a-lifetime miracle stories and I’ll tell you all about it over coffee some time.  Little did I know then that being a Hawaii wedding planner would feed my half-creative, half-analytical tendencies, and through this start my passion for weddings grew leaps and bounds.  I am forever humbled by these couples that entrusted me with their weddings as they were the inspiration behind Lucia Events.  You see, Lucia Events is not just a wedding planning company in Hawaii.  Named after my mother, it is at the heart and soul of my life’s work.”
